Some thoughts

1. Have you read AMERICAN GODS, by Neil Gaiman? You probably have. According to Twitter I seem to be the very last person in the known universe to read it. And if you haven't read it, what are you waiting for? It's bloody brilliant. I read the 'author's preferred text', which is something like 12,000 words longer than the original book. I'd be very interested in comparing the two versions and may well do so one day. Unless one of you has read both and can save me the time?

2. I somehow got involved in a Facebook conversation about fanciable cartoon characters. Any favourites you want to tell me about? You tell me yours and maybe, just maybe, I'll tell you mine.

3. I've ventured into the world of Google+. Am liking it muchly so far. There's something very satisfying about putting people in circles. I hope the arrival of Google+ will force Facebook to buck up its ideas, especially regarding privacy.

4. This song is rocking my socks off right now. Bwani Junction are going to be BIG.

5. Last, but by no means least... This little fella is arriving tomorrow:

That's all from me. What's going on with YOU?

  1. I have read Neverwhere, but couldn't tell you which one I read as it was so long ago.

Google+ - do I really need another social network.

    Little pup looks so cute!

  2. Porthos from the Muskehounds was my first cartoon crush (he was the Alsatian). I just did a Google search - he's not as, erm, "fit" as I remember. What is this Google+ of which you speak?

  3. Aren't Bwani Junction excellent? I'm rather jealous that you've seen them when I've only changed their nappies. Do you know, I don't think I've ever fancied a cartoon character, but I did play a Final Fantasy game on the Playstation once and became awfully attached to the main character. I'm on Google+ - it's like Facebook but without the people... I'll have to find you.

  5. I have American Gods on my shelf but haven't read it yet, I'm trying to read Gaiman's books slowly (I normally race through authors' back catalogues and then get sad that I've run out of books). I definitely intend to read it sometime soon though.

Gambit from the animated version of X Men was one of my earliest crushes. I was very pleased when the live action version of him was suitably attractive.

I'm unsure of Google+ at the moment, I can see it's potential but I feel nervous about adding people I only know online - I don't want to come across as a nutty stalker. I love the social anxiety new social networks bring!

I'm looking forward to seeing lots of puppy pics :D
