I love rain

It's completely tipping it down this morning, and I couldn't be happier about it. Bank Holiday weekend usually means rain, but I had a horrible feeling that this time there would be SUN and WARMTH and LOUD PEOPLE IN THE GARDEN. But not today! Thank you, Mother Nature! You knew I had to write today, didn't you? And you've probably heard me bitching and moaning about being stuck indoors for the past few weekends, while everyone else in the world (my noisy neighbours in particular) were outside enjoying themselves.

I am in such a good mood that I sang as I prepared my breakfast (Nina Simone, in case you're interested). Tra la la!

Better get writing pronto, cos I've only got until 3.30. That's when Real People arrive to kill zombies and stuff.

What are you doing today? Writing? Procrastinating? Living your life?

  1. OK, while you're inside, writing, all cosy and creative, drinking tea and nibbling biscuits think of me, standing in the pouring rain, with stomach-clenching nerves watching a crucial under-10s football match..knowing that if the reds win my son will be the happiest boy alive and if they lose it'll be tears all the way home..that's assuming we can get home because apparently loads of roads in north London are flooded. Huh.

  2. Keren- Yikes. That doesn't sound good. Come on, the Reds! Can you take a hip flask with you?

  3. I'm writing today - in-between trying to sort out the family's needs, issues and problems *sigh* - and thankfully it's NOT raining in Leicester because I often write in the conservatory and the rain makes such a noise on the roof I can't think properly.

  4. Rosalind- I love the sound of rain on my velux windows, but you're right - it can be distracting! Hope today's a happy writing day for you!

  5. There is a cafe...nice hot tea. And if it's too wet I will retire to the executive box aka the car.

  6. It's a great writing day! I've stayed in, snuggled up in my blanket, surfing the net with a cup of hot tea. Lovely!

  8. I spent yesterday morning reading Life as we knew it by Susan Pfeffer. It is bloomin scary and so when our friends came for Sunday roast I kept mentioning apocalypses (sp plural?). Luckily they are used to my book inspired craziness. Today I wish to stockpile hundreds of tins of baked beans.

  9. Becky- You get stockpiling... just in case! It's always good to be prepared. Can you dig some kind of bunker in the back garden too?
